We have a first! Last night, Wyatt slept through the night!!!!!!!!!!!! He went to sleep around 11:30 and didn''t wake up until 7:30am! I am one well-rested Mommy now. I can only hope that it wasn''t a fluke.
I''m on spring break now and am looking forward to spending the next 2 weeks getting caught up on lesson plans and grading and cleaning. Most of all, I''m looking forward to spending all my days with Wyatt. We''re going to have so much fun! Except for the day this coming week when Wyatt has to get his shots. Good thing I''ll be home to hold him and comfort him afterwards!
Life is busier than it''s ever been for us. My new job is great but it''s been tough on us with working opposite schedules and caring for Wyatt during what is supposed to be "sleep time"! I''m so so SO thankful that my friend Tiffany watches him for us during the couple hours that our shifts overlap. I was very uneasy about the possibility of sending him to daycare and I know that he is loved at Tiff''s house and in great hands.
Many have been asking about my pelvis- at my last appointment a couple weeks ago, the closing of it had slowed- I think it was only 1mm closer. The doctor said that right around now is when my body has stopped producing that relaxin chemical so things should be setting up now. My next X-ray will be during the 1st week of April. I''m anxious to see how much progress has been made now. I''m walking without the walker, although it hurts by the end of the day so I can tell it''s still not healed completely. I hope I''m not like this the rest of my life! I''ll know more in a couple weeks.
Wyatt is loads of fun! He smiles a lot and is very alert. He''s sleeping for us better at night now, although the trade-off is that he''s awake most of the afternoon and all evening. Every evening around 8 he goes into a crying fit for no reason. Probably just because the poor guy is so exhausted from not sleeping and can''t fall asleep! If anyone has tips for getting crying babies to fall asleep I''m all ears...
My little baby is 5 weeks old! He''s wearing his 0-3 month clothes now. He still loves to stare at funny faces and imitates them more often now. His personality is really starting to come out. I love to stare at him while he''s sleeping. I can''t believe we made such a perfect baby!
I''ve added some new pictures of him and added the link to his hospital page. He''s changed a lot!
Wyatt is cuter than ever! He''s spending more and more time taking in his surroundings. He likes staring at us while we make funny faces at him. If you do them long enough (like til your face hurts), he will even mimic smiley and kissy faces! His smile makes me melt! I love kissing his chubby little cheeks.
My pelvis is still making progress. The XRay today showed it has moved 2mm more together. I''ve been transitioning to walking without the walker and can do okay for short periods of time.
Josh went back to work today and I start my new job on Monday. I''ll be teaching 6th and 7th grade science and social studies in a Dayton Public School. It''s going to be so hard to leave Wyatt but I didn''t want to pass up this job opportunity. Our work schedules only overlap by a couple hours and our good friend Tiffany is watching him during that time so he is in good hands and I won''t worry about him at all. I''ll miss him so much though! Josh and I will only see each other on Sundays and Monday evenings so that will be tough too. We''re introducing Wyatt to formula in case I can''t pump enough for him while I''m at work. So far he doesn''t seem to notice a difference and Josh is getting to spend time feeding him so it''s working out nicely. I can''t believe he''s almost a month old! The time has flown by!
