We now have exactly one month until my C-section date! I do not feel prepared for this. With Wyatt, all the preparations were complete well in advance. Now with this one I have a “been there done that” mind-set which is actually working against me because nothing is ready for this baby! Our house has not yet been cleaned top to bottom (have to do that because I won’t have time after she’s born), her bedroom is still set up as a guest-room, we haven’t set up her area in our bedroom yet, I haven’t packed our hospital bags yet, I haven’t sanitized bottles and my pump yet, I don’t even have her coming-home outfit yet! I haven’t even finished filling out Wyatt’s baby book and I haven’t even started his baby scrapbook! Yesterday I realized that the carseat was probably most important so I moved Wyatt’s over to the passenger side and installed hers behind the driver seat. I have an appointment at the fire station today to make sure they are in there right. Every single time I think they are those carseat people find something to adjust. The baby’s summer wardrobe is complete and we have a small stockpile of disposable and cloth diapers. But we have so much to do still. She is not allowed to come one day sooner than that C-section date!
This is our last week having Josh away at K9 training. It’s been a long 5 weeks without him. He and Torro have to pass a test on Friday for the training school and then next week they take the tests to get certified in Ohio. He’ll be having rotating days off instead of set ones which will take some getting used to for me but it will be so nice to have him home again. I''ve been worried that I''d go into labor while he''s away.
It seems like every day Wyatt learns something new. He is growing up so fast but he still looks like a baby to us. I don’t think he will look like a toddler to me until I’m holding the new baby in my arms. He has a haircut on Thursday and he always looks much older after those. He has 2 books (and only 2) that he begs me to read over and over and over again. Last night we read Humpty Dumpty at least a dozen times in a row and then finally I distracted him and hid the book. We’re just waiting for him to knock out his teeth from falling off the couch. He climbs everything. And falls off of everything that he climbs. He''s been taking off his socks and shoes for many months but now he has started putting them back on. Well trying to at least. Oh and he is a dancing machine! He has fast dances and slow dances and starts up every time he hears music. Do I have the cutest kid or what?
