We just lived through a 4 day power outage which was quite an experience. The storm hit our area pretty hard. Ice, water, candles, batteries, etc... were always sold out and I''ve realized that we need to be more prepared for stuff like this in the future! A big thank you to the Kelly family for opening their home to us during this. I was able to charge batteries and cook "real" food for a couple of the evenings. Around 8 every night darkness started to set in so I lit candles and me, Bethany, and Wyatt sat on the couch and read stories by flashlight. I also changed diapers by flashlight which was not fun. I think if the kids were older it could have been a more positive adventure.
Not much else to report on. Bethany is still sooooo close to rolling over. She will talk your ear off too. I''m still trying to figure out what her food intolerances are but she is doing MUCH much better. She is really resistant to going to sleep but once I get her to sleep she usually sleeps from about 11:30-7:30 and then refuses to nap during the day. I remember Wyatt going on a nap strike around this age too. Last night was a rough one. She didn''t get to sleep until 2am and then woke up for a feeding at 5. Then her and Wyatt were up at 7:30. If I thought I was busy before Bethany was born it was nothing compared to now! But I enjoy my job :) They grow up so fast
Boy, these kids are keeping us busy! But they are worth every second :)
Wyatt has started to say more words. His latest favorites are Grandpa, Missy, and Ewwwww. I used a gift card from Aunt Hannah to buy him his very own kids dirt devil vacuum, broom, and dustpan. The other day he "cleaned" for a good hour after breakfast. If only I had that much motivation first thing in the morning! He is a very busy boy. I can''t get enough of his kisses. They are the best kisses in the whole world.
Bethany is a person now! Yes, I know she always was. But she''s showing more of her personality now. She''s giggling and making a variety of cooing baby sounds. She always has a huge grin on her face while talking to us. Her eyes are turning into a lighter blue color and her hair is coming in more blond. She is so beautiful. The pictures don''t do her justice. In addition to her reflux she has some unknown food intolerance so she''s been on a hypoallergenic formula (that she hates!) since Saturday while my body clears out whatever is bothering her. I''ve been dairy-free for weeks now but that didn''t help so now I have to cut out more possible allergins. Hey, if anyone knows any good recipes for meals that don''t use dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, tomatoes, or anything from nuts please email me them! I can have steak and potatoes which just happens to be one of my favorite meals so I guess this gives me an excuse to eat lots of that.
You may have noticed in the pictures that our yard is now fenced-in! My dad, my brother Kenny, and Josh worked many long hours putting that up and it looks great. Wyatt can''t get enough of being outside and now that I don''t have to chase him around I can just sit back and relax and watch him play. We spend hours out there every day. I don''t thinkg we''re ready for summer to be over!
