Funny story that Wyatt will someday be mad at me for telling- A few nights ago I walked into his room after naptime and he was naked as a jaybird! Had taken his clothes and his diaper off and thrown them overboard. He was pointing to something and saying “ewww” and I looked and saw a turd in the crib. There were also a dozen pee spots. I imagine that he was running around in the crib while peeing. I couldn’t help but crack up laughing and I’m sure I will tell this story to his girlfriends someday. So looks like it’s back to safety-pinning his sleepers on so he can’t unzip them. I read in a Parents Magazine about duct-taping diapers on kids who take them off and I hope it doesn’t come to that!
Wyatt has slept in his big boy bed the past 2 nights and it’s going well. Oh and he finally has more teeth! After having 6 teeth forever and ever, he popped two more out. That is a relief because if they didn’t come out by his birthday, we were going to have to take him to a pediatric dentist. Phew!
Bethany is starting to contently play for longer periods at a time. She will sometimes play in the excersaucer or on a blanket for 20 minutes at a time which is great progress for her. And it’s just enough time for mommy to get more things done. She’s working on being able to sit without toppling over so quickly. She loves being able to see the world from the sitting position. I’m still on the allergy diet and she’s still doing great, although I miss cheese greatly. I keep thinking of all the cheesy things I am going to eat when she is weaned someday. I thought we wouldn’t be starting solids until 6 months but she was showing signs of being ready already so I went ahead and started them this week. Just a teaspoon every evening for the past few days to get her used to it. She had sweet potatoes as her first food. Didn’t like them the first day but has liked them since. Squash is next!
